Thankful Thursday

Happy Thursday! I pray everyone has been having a great week! I have and pray it continues. Visit Laurie @ Women Taking A Stand today, she is our hostess this month for Thankful Thursday. She always blesses me with her writings.

Today I am thankful for the Holy Spirit. I have been doing a study by Beth Moore called Breaking Free. To me it's one of her more personal ones. It is about making liberty in Christ a reality in life. I did it once years ago,but felt the need to do it again. This weeks thoughts have been on generational sins and rebuilding ancient ruins. She does it in a way where you aren't having to blame or criticize your family too, which I like. As she kept asking the question,'What sin do you see in your life that you think is just a part of you?' At first I couldn't think of one and she said it you may not recognize it because it is a learned habit. It's a part of who you are and you may think that is just how you are made. By Tuesday I had pin pointed one that I thought was appropriate. The silent treatment. I don't get sassy with my husband and I don't raise my voice, but I do get silent and maybe close things harder than I would if I wasn't mad. The Holy Spirit convicted me of that and it's just as much as not being submissive and angry as using verbal words. Thank God for the Holy Spirit! It is not always comfortable when he shows you something about yourself and it is not always convenient, but it is always true. God loves me enough to not leave me as I am,but to want to transform me into His likeness! Glory to Him!

What are you thankful for today? Everyone has something!! Be blessed!!

  2. Thank you for sharing your journey in this endeavor. Relying on the Holy Ghost - truly trusting in the guidance received - and following - is the toughest test of faith. I continue to struggle (mightily) with that effort. I am ashamed when I resist especially since I know the joy that comes from obedience.

I invite you to stop by my post in this week's Thankful Thursday blog hop. I called it "When You Choose What You Got". I hope that it will encourage you in your efforts.

  4. Oh Heather,

I love your open heart... Can you believe it. I have never done this particular study. I have led about every other Beth Moore study available. Well in three weeks I will lead a group of gals through this study. I can't wait. I am praying for breakthroughs and the release of captives.

Love you girl. Have a fantastic TT. Hugs.
