Receiving Grace

We've talked a lot about giving grace to our husbands this month, but what about receiving grace? I used to think giving grace was the hardest to do, but I'm finding now that receiving grace is pretty hard too.

Come on over to The Imperfect Wives and be encouraged today.

Birthdays and a Field Trip

The Field Trip

We went on a field trip this past Thursday with our home school co-op group. We loaded up and all met at Welford's Farm Pumpkin Patch that morning. The boys were so excited! It was a beautiful Fall morning here in South Mississippi. All the kids had a good time running around and playing. It was our first field trip this year and it was very successful. They grabbed a few goodies from the General Store and then took a hay ride ( By the way, I can't believe how big my boys are getting and how independent they're becoming). Around noon all the families laid out blankets and had lunch in the pumpkin patch. It's such a blessing to have wonderful families to gather with and have a good time with. We're so thankful for our group, though we don't know them all that well.

Pumpkin Patch fun.

Hayride time!

Birthdays

This past week my middle son, Aaron, turned five years old. It's hard to believe that it's been five years since I gave birth to him. Thursday was his official birthday. We celebrated with his brothers and Daddy with just some cupcakes and a gift. He is such a sweet little boy. He is tenderhearted, kind, thoughtful, funny, and loves to serve. We're so blessed to call him our son.

Michael Aaron turns 5.

We pray every day for God's will to be done in his life. We desire to see God do great things in him every day of his life. He still has a ways to go obviously because he's only five years old, but we cover him in prayer daily.

We also celebrated my oldest nieces birthday that evening. Tabitha turns 13 November 1st. It's hard to believe she is a teenager. She's a lovely young lady that we love very much. We had a great time with my brother and his family, my sister and her family, and my parents.

Tabitha the birthday girl.

What fun things does your family and friends do this time of the year? We're eagerly waiting for Thanksgiving. We love to gather with our family and friends to give thanks for the years harvest. Have a blessed weekend!

Choosing Grace

So many times in my marriage I have the opportunity to choose how I'll react to situations. I can choose to be hateful, rude, and bitter or I can choose to be loving, forgiving, and gracious. It's not always easy to choose the latter responses when I feel I have been wronged. If my husband is snappy with me, I want to be the same with him. If he doesn't show me the grace I think I deserve, I'm tempted to withhold grace from him.

Come join me at The Imperfect Wives today as I talk about choosing grace.

Making Wise Decisions

At times in life, it can be hard to know the right decisions to make. Sometimes we have some tough decisions we face regarding finances, our children, and other important issues. We often wonder how can we make the right decision? I know in my life it's so important to make a decision that will honor God and to know I'm making a decision that God desires for my life. It's not always easy to know how to make that decision. Although, I have found out that there is a way that can help me make those decisions. By following the peace that God gives me, I can know it's the one He desires for me to make.

To read more come on over to Laced With Grace where I'm writing today. I have my first printable also, don't miss it!

Sweet As Honey

Grace. It's a word so often used. Yet, I don't know that everyone really understands it's meaning. Grace is getting something that we don't deserve or unmerited favor from God. How can we show that same grace to our husbands? It's not always easy to extend grace to them, even when it's little things that irritate us, but God calls us to be forgiving and gracious to those around us. Our husbands are no exception. With God's help we can extend grace to them even when we don't think they deserve it.

I'm writing over at The Imperfect Wives today. Come join us!

Sowing the Word In Our Lives

I'm so honored to be sharing over at a sweet friend's, Iris, site today about my book.

It seems when you're trying to honor God with your life, a barrage of mishaps can come your way. It can be many different things trying to discourage you from honoring God with your life. When you keep obeying and serving God you can have opposition from Satan. Doing the right things isn't always easy, but if we keep doing them we'll be rewarded. God blesses those who honor Him. Life on earth isn't easy for anyone, but we have to press on.
