Tasty Tuesdays

I really like this meme! I love food and love to get recipes! So join us for Tasty Tuesdays and share a recipe.

A few months ago I purchased a Cheese Recipe Cards book from Taste of Home. We LOVE cheese around here,so it seemed perfect. Tasty Mozzarella Chicken is one of my favorites from the book. I changed the recipe a little, but I'll post both.

Tasty Mozzarella Chicken
1 egg
2 tablespoons water
2/3 cup dry bread crumbs
1 envelope onion soup mix
1/8 teaspoon pepper
6 boneless skinless chicken breast halves (5 ounces each)
1-1/2 cups spaghetti sauce
1 can (7ounces) mushroom stems and pieces,drained
1 cup (4ounces) shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese

  1. In a shallow bowl, beat egg and water. In another shallow bowl, combine the bread crumbs, soup  mix, and pepper. Dip chicken in egg mixture, then coat with crumb mixture.
  2. Place in a greased 13-in. x 9-in. baking dish. Bake, uncovered, at 400 degrees for 22-25 minutes or until juices run clear.
  3. In a small bowl, combine spaghetti sauce and mushrooms; spoon over chicken. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake 5-7 minutes longer or until sauce is bubbly and cheese is melted.
Now, mine wasn't exactly like this. I could not find the envelope onion soup mix and I didn't use any mushrooms. I did mine more as a meal so I used noodles. I did step number one without the soup mix. I did step number 2 and I did step number 3 minus the mushrooms. I used a lot of sauce and a lot of cheese. I was cooking the noodles at the same time and when both were done I put the chicken and sauce over the noodles and there ya got it. Mine was more like Chicken Parmesan.

This was what mine looked like, though this isn't a picture of mine.

Either way it is delish!!! Hope you enjoyed!
