Thankful Thursday-Memorial Day

Wow, it has been awhile since I have been able to participate! Our computer is now in our bedroom, since Daniel moved into his room. Aaron sleeps in our room during the day,so that leaves little time to use the computer. I miss writing, but it is only for a time,it shall pass too! Laurie @ Women Taking A Stand is our host for Thankful Thursday this month. Her post is remembering the reason for our 3 day weekend,Memorial Day. She is a blessing and an inspiration,so check her out!

I am thankful for those who put their life on the line to keep our freedoms for us in the USA. It can be so easy to take those freedoms fore-granted,but we have to stay in reality and know men and women go to war each day to keep us free. They leave their family, friends, and luxuries to go see horrible things take place. I cannot imagine a day in their shoes. The least I can do is say thank you and pray for them all. Like Laurie said it is easy to forget through the hustle and bustle, but I am going to make it a point to set aside time this coming Monday to honor them in pray and a moment of silence. They do what I am not willing to do on a large scale. You never know what a simple thank you can do to someone.

I am also thankful for our Jesus who had the ultimate sacrifice for freedom when he laid his life down on the cross and in the grave! Praise God for his service to the whole world!! When he defeated death on the third day and rose again our freedom was sealed, all we have to do is accept it! We can be chained physically, but can be free spiritually through Christ! Men can take our physical freedom, but they aren't able to take it spiritually. I often think of Corrie Ten Boom and her family during WWII. Corrie and her sister Betsy were in 2 horrible concentration camps and in spite of that they remained spiritually free. We should thank God everyday for our freedom in Christ!!

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
  Romans 8:35-39

Be blessed today!!! Don't forget to check out Laurie @ Women Taking A Stand.
