Friday's Fave Five

I have been so busy all day. My oldest has some type of cold that has made him bronchospasms at night,so I haven't even touched the computer much. I had this written out already and wanted to post. Please pray for Daniel. He is fine during the day besides a cough here and there. He is acting normal, has no fever, and isn't contagious. But the whole week at least once during the early morning he has woken up gasping for air, which is the bronchospasms. It's very scary for us,he doesn't remember it. We've got him on some medicine and he will start lung tonic as soon as Monday. My littlest one just has a cold, but he will start lung tonic too. So pray for him also. AND pray the other one does not get it. They are usually very healthy and do not get sick often. We try to do over the counter natural medicine or use an herbalist in north MS. He's great. Anyways. Just some prayer request to begin with.

  1. Cooler Temps... We have had cooler temps,if you can call it that. It's been in the lower 70's at night and not so humid during the day.
  2. Family time... my hubby has been working a lot of overtime this month. We're like most families and trying to make ends meet, but we only have one income. Tuesday we had a family day. Mike took the big boys out to eat at Subway and I stayed home with Johnathan and played. It was so nice!
  3. Pizza... we also ordered pizza on family day. I love pizza! I usually make homemade pizzas, but I love to order out.
  4. Visiting family... My Daddy and Mama came by today after my Daddy's Dr. appointment. He did not feel good at all,but he spent plenty of time with the boys. We don't let them play the Play Station much, but I let them play with my Daddy today. Continue to pray for him. The Dr. says he has no Lyme (I don't believe that),but has Toxoplasma. It can be serious and the meds they will put him on can be dangerous. Please pray for him and my Mother and my family. I can't imagine the worst...
  5. Walking... I have come to love the in home walking! I started a 5 day walking plan this week. I've been walking 3 miles. Whew... it is tough, but it helps me sleep better for sure!

Friday's Fave Five

Whew,it's been a week here at my house. I am glad it's coming to a close and we get to start anew in a few days. It's time to look back at my week and count my blessings.

  1. Friends... We spent Sunday afternoon with friends who are like family to us. We've known them for years,my husband longer than I have. It was a great time and the boys got to go to the creek for a bit.
  2. Donuts... I love a good donut. I haven't had much sweets lately, but the boys and I found Smore's donuts today in Wal-Mart. Oh they were very good!
  3. Family... The boys and I went to spend the day with my parents yesterday. It was a good visit. My Daddy just wasn't able to do anything. He had an adverse reaction to the medicine they had him on. Please pray for him if you think about it. Tony is his name. He is fighting Lyme Disease.
  4. Slowing down... I have been writing for the last month on my blog almost every day during the week. I was trying to build my blog followers up,but I got to thinking is that really important? No it's not. My children are more important,so I have pulled back. I will post whenever I can or something is laid on my heart. It's been nice to not feel pressured to write everyday.
  5. Exercise... I started doing my in home walking again. I have been walking 5 nights a week, starting out with the 1 mile and have been doing the 2 mile this week. I have switched to doing it at night. It works best. Oh my legs have been feeling it,but I can feel them getting stronger. It'll be worth it!

Friday's Fave Five

  1. Canoeing... Saturday I did something I never have before. I went on a canoe trip. The young married couples at church went to north Mississippi to canoe on the Okatoma Creek. It was quite an experience. I was scared too death, but we made it! My husband loves this kind of stuff...not me so much. It was nice to try it and see my husband having fun too.
  2. Home meeting... We were able to attend home meeting this past Sunday. We had a full house too. It was good sharing with others and hearing their thoughts on the Word.
  3. Card games... We took our boys to Target Monday evening and found 2 card games for less than $2. We bought them and a regular priced one. We have Uno,Sorry Revenge, and Battleship. The boys have enjoyed playing them with us. I love playing any kind of games!
  4. Celebrations... I love to bake. Aaron helped me mix of a cake yesterday morning to bake for my husband's birthday. I never got to bake him one here. So we baked it and blew some balloons up to tie to the kitchen table chairs. It was so sweet that they wanted to "throw" him a party.
  5.  New recipes... I tried a new one last night. Chicken nachos. It turned out pretty good. Here is the link that has the recipe and the Corn Casserole recipe some have asked for. I hope you enjoy!

Friday's Fave Five

  1. Weekend Away... Last Friday and Saturday night we stayed with out Pastor and his family. We had game night at church Friday night. It was so much fun! The kids, men, and women had a blast. It was a nice change of pace to be away for a couple of days
  2. Water fun... Saturday we rode down to the river with Bro. Brian and his family. It was so much fun! It was a hot day and we went to cool off. All the kids enjoyed it. They have 4 and we have 3,so it was fun to watch them all since they are around the same ages.
  3. Provision... My cell phone crashed on Monday night. I have had problems with this particular brand, but won't pay the high rate for a new one until my contract is up so I can afford it. I went to the cell phone store thinking it would cost a lot and it didn't. They fixed it with no charge. I use my phone for alarms, memos notes, texting my hubby, and much more.
  4. Reading... My boys love for me to read to them. Lately they have been telling stories to me and it's great. They are so precious.
  5. Late night snack... Wednesday was just an off day for us. Everything seem to go wrong. By that night when my hubby made it home at 9 I told him I just needed to run out a minute. The boys were all alseep,so I went to McDonald's. Yep. Sometimes a cheeseburger and a coke do you some good. It felt good to go out and just think and sing loudly.

Friday's Fave Five

  1. Quiet times... We have started back to our quiet times. It's so nice. The boys watch something on t.v. or draw while I blog or read. It's nice to get refreshed.
  2. Routine... I just started a new night time routine and it's going great. My boys get wound up about an hour before bed. So I started a quiet time before bed. At 7:30 they get in their beds and draw/color while I do last minute night time things. I has been so great and a lot less chaotic. I'm a sucker for routine.
  3. Reading... I finished 2 books on my Kindle this week. I love to read, but don't get to do it as much as I once did. It felt great to finish these 2 that I have loved reading. Pain Redeemed by Natasha Metzler and Blog Mom by Christin Slade.
  4. Family time... My mom and sis came down yesterday to go out to lunch. It was so nice. We went to our favorite place, Olive Garden. I miss seeing them everyday.
  5. Game night... We are going to game night at our church tonight. It'll be our first to go too. We go to a small church and love fellowshipping with our church family. I'm sure it will be fun!

Friday's Fave Five

It's that time again! Time to look back over our week and see the positive things from it. I love doing this. For those wanting the Corn Casserole recipe,I will share it soon!

  1. Exercise... I slacked off for awhile, but now that I have found something to help with my hormones,so I don't feel crazy, I have been exercising again. I hate and love it. I hate to sweat, but love the results of exercising. Anyone with me?
  2. Family trips... We loaded up Tuesday evening and took our boys across the bay (Mobile Bay that takes us over to Baldwin County) and went to Bass Pro Shop. Our boys love going there just to look! We enjoyed it too. We then stopped at Chic-Fil-A for supper and headed back home. My hubby suggested going to a nearby elementary school to play on the playground. We did that too. It was a fun evening out!
  3. Dates... My Mama came down Wednesday around noon to watch our boys for us. I took my husband out for his birthday (it's the 28th of this month). We did some shopping and then went to eat at his favorite place, Texas Roadhouse. We enjoyed each others company and just being together. I love that man.
  4. Good deals... We found some great deals at Academy Sports and Outdoors yesterday. We found nice t-shirts for $2.98!!! We racked up needless to say!
  5. Family... My Daddy had a Doctor's appointment this morning so my brother brought him down. They stopped by and we had a good visit. I miss living near my family at times.

  1. Vacation Bible School... We decorated Sunday after church for VBS. It was my first to decorate for it. The former church I went too did not have VBS. It was so much fun!! This is my boys first one to attend also. They are loving it!! It's great to see my kids thriving, but it's sad too. They are getting bigger.
  2. Pizza... We ordered pizza after church so we could stay there and get right on decorating. I looove pizza!! It is one of my all time favorite foods.
  3. Sun... I do love a good summer rain shower, but it has been raining for the last week and a half. Today we had a break in it! We had a lot of sunshine and NO rain! I still long for cooler/cold weather though.
  4. New recipes... I tried out a corn casserole recipe from our Pastor's wife. Oh it was so good! It's so simple too!!
  5. French toast... We had French Toast one night this week for supper. My boys wanted breakfast for supper. I have found a yummy recipe a year ago and it's simple too!
I must admit I love food. I have learned to watch my portions though. :) I love trying new things! I hope you all have a great weekend!

Here are my 3 boys at Vacation Bible School this past week.

Friday's Fave Five

1. Sunrises... I go grocery shop at the crack of dawn on Friday mornings. This is my view most of the time. I love it!

2. Flowers... I love flowers! I have been buying some each week when I shop to put on the table. Pink is my favorite color!

3. Jewelry... I make jewelry and love wearing it. My sweet friend Hollie made this birds nest necklace for me.

4. Bible studies... Another sweet friend gave me a book from Doorposts at the Mom's Night Out lat Friday. It's the Put On Study. I started it this week with my boys. We traced their hands and they colored them like they were gloves.

Friday's Fave Five

This is a favorite each week of mine to write about.

  1. Sunday evenings... we had no service Sunday evening. It was our softball Sunday, but it was so hot that we had dinner on the grounds instead. My hubby had to go to work, but the boys and I enjoyed a relaxing evening. I loved it.
  2. Rising early... I have made it up each week early enough to do my Bible study, pray, and write on my blog some. I love getting up early and having the peace and quiet before my loud day begins.
  3. Friends... We had a couple over from our church (who we have known for awhile before hand) Tuesday evening. We had a good time of talking, eating, and watching the kids play. I love having friends that are like minded in so much.
  4. Playtime... my boys love playing like we are various animals and we play this a lot. Imagine me crawling around on the floor making cow, deer,or bear noises. We make us a home and pretend to be finding food or running from other animals/people. It's these memories my boys will remember though it's not so easy on the knees.
  5. Moms Night Out... wooo hoooo! The homeschool group I stay in touch with has this once a month if they can and they are having it Friday night. My hubby happens to be working a day shift and I will be able to go kid free to it. I am looking forward to some more fellowship with like minded ladies and barrels of laughs.

Friday's Fave Five

Maybe I can link up on time this week. Last week it would not let me on Friday. I am getting back to the season of time for writing. They come and go. I have put a subscribe button on my blog as well. So you can get updates through email when I do write. :-)

  1. Great Father's Day... we went to church and heard a powerful message about God being a Father to us,the fatherless, and about how important Father's are in the homes. Love our Pastor and his boldness ! We then spent part of the day with each Father. It was great to see my Daddy and Father-in-law.
  2. Friends... We went for a visit on Monday with some dear friends. They are missionaries in and out state/country. They also work to support themselves and their 2 small boys.Lance works with God's Pit Crew too building things for the needy. He recently got back from Moore,OK with GPC. He also married us right here in our apartment along with his wife as the witness. It was a great evening with the Hobby family.
  3. Rest... Tuesday and Wednesday we were able to get back to our routine. My hubby went back to work and the boys and I tried to stay cool.
  4. Smoothies... I have been making smoothies this week! Oh they are so good! I will be posting a post soon with pictures and recipes.
  5. Sisters... I got to see my little sis yesterday. They have been gone since about March to FL with her husband working. We had a graduation party for her son (he will start First grade this year, they home school too). We gathered at my parents along with my brother an his family. The kids ran, played, and even got to swim some. My Daddy fried catfish (the best around) and we had a good ol' time!

Friday's Fave Five

It has been sometime since I have written much on my blog. I just got busy and was not able to dedicate time like I wanted too. Life is always changing. This week I have written every day. So I wanted to keep the trend going. :)

  1. Great Sunday service... I love hearing our Pastor preach,he is so passionate. We spent the day with his family and then my husband spoke at church that night. I love my husband. He talked about his job a little bit and how he wants to impact others for Christ. He's a State Trooper here in AL.
  2. Coffee... I know I have said it's a favorite many times, but I so enjoy my morning coffee. I love trying new creamers by Bailey's. I have Caramel and Irish Creme right now. Ummm!
  3. Bible study... it's our 2nd week in our summer study. Our little online group is studying James. I am a part of the Good Morning Girls online study. I love studying the Word, verse by verse or in chunks. It's definitely been convicting and encouraging!
  4. Family... We went to see my parents yesterday. It was so hot,but we went for a swim. It was so nice. The boys ran, played, and went swimming. I love going back to my first home. I love all the woods, the pond, and seeing my parents.
  5. T.v... I love to cuddle on the floor with my boys and watch a movie or something. We did that tonight. They are so sweet and love to do it too. We watch a movie every week.

Friday's Fave Five

Join us as we look back at our favorites or blessings from the week. Susanne @ Living to Tell the Story is our host,so be sure to link up with her.

  1. Softball Sunday... Every 4th Sunday when the time changes and the evenings are longer, our church doesn't have night service. We gather back together to grill outside and fellowship. The kids play and the adults do too. I think it just took on the name softball Sunday because the adults played softball. We had a great time this past Sunday. We invite others who don't have anything to do that evening.
  2. Spring cleaning... We did some deep cleaning Tuesday and Wednesday morning. I love to clean! I love the smell of the freshness. My husband steamed cleaned our carpet, which needed it badly. We cleaned windows, the bathroom, and replaced some things.
  3. Great conversation... We had some friends over Wednesday evening for supper. They go to church with us and have a boy and a girl close to our boys age. Jenn brought a Greek salad and I baked chicken spaghetti. We had a great time!
  4. Resurrection activities... The boys took upon themselves to draw some pictures at breakfast this week. Daniel is a good little artist. They drew some pictures of Jesus on the cross and of the empty tomb. We did role playing last night of the Passover and betrayal of Jesus upon their request. Today we read the first part of the crucifixion and are doing the scene with a Resurrection set I printed out. We have Jesus on the cross and will take him off and put him in the tomb this evening. Sunday morning I am going to take him out and they will look for him. We also watched the Passover,Betrayal, and Crucifixion last night. It's a great animated story I found. We had some good discussions. We don't do eggs, easter bunny,or baskets.
  5. Coffee.. I bought some new coffee today. It's called Seattle's Best. I have been drinking Dunkin' Donuts, but wanted to try something new! I found a great creamer by Bailey's. It's Almond Toffee and it's so good!
  6. Bonus... We are starting Spring Break Monday. They are pretty excited and so am I!
I pray you all reflect and meditate deeply on the crucifixion today and tomorrow. Think of how our Lord suffered so we may be in right standing with God,our Father. How awesome!!! Yet, how sad at the same time. I hate that Jesus had to be put through so much pain for the whole world. My perspective and feelings have changed over the years at how I look and observer this holy time. I pray you know our Lord and know He is risen and He is alive!

Friday's Fave Five

I didn't get to link up as early today, but still wanted to get my post in! Join us and share your favorites from the week.

  1. Bonding time... My husband took our 2 older boys camping for one night this week. I missed them a lot,but it is awesome to see my husband take up time with my boys. There is so much more he could have been doing, but he chose to spend time with them.
  2. Giving... I love to give! I make jewelry and I did a give-a-way on my Facebook page this week. It was so much fun and always is to do. I made 3 pieces to give away. From the Heart Jewelry by Heather is my page for anyone interested.
  3. Outside time... we have had such great weather this week and I took the big boys out while the toddler slept in this morning. We had a blast! They found some snails, worms, and rollie pollies.
  4. Friends... We went to some good friends house yesterday evening for a birthday party. It does me good to see my kids forming friendships. They had fun and I had a great visit with a good friend of mine.
  5. In-Laws... My oldest SIL came over today and one of my nieces. It's always fun for the boys to have family come over. We even made a trip to Michael's,Hobby Lobby, and to get ice cream.
Hope everyone has had a wonderful week! Link up with Susanne @ Living to Tell the Story for more posts.

Friday's Fave Five

Sometimes my week is rough. Motherhood can be exhausting for sure,so looking back at the positives helps me each week.

  1. Longer evenings... We enjoyed a beautiful evening Sunday before night service. We went to a friend's and took a ride on the Benche (sort of like a Gator, not sure if you know what I mean). It was beautiful and so breezy. I love being outside. It's a favorite of mine. Time changed this weekend,so now we get longer evenings and it's nice.
  2. Signs of spring... I do love cold weather and the Winter season, but I need Spring, in more than one way. Last year was a rough year for me and it effected the family also. Feminine issues plagued me and finally I am seeing the light. It will be like turning over a new leaf literally. The beautiful days have been so refreshing!
  3. New hair do... I went this past Wednesday for some highlights. It's only about the 3rd time in 10 years that I have done them. I wanted some lighter color. My hair used to be cotton top and it was that way until the pregnancy years. I miss it. So I did some "fake" color. I really love it!
  4. Local cafe shops... While I was out getting my hair highlighted, I stopped at a friend's bread/coffee shop. Oh it is such a good place. They are a Christian family and very delightful too! I had a lemon bar with Costa Rican Smooth coffee.
  5. Conversations... My 5 year old and I had a great one today. I was folding clothes and we talked about animals. He is so cute. He was asking all sorts of questions. I love him and how he is getting more mature and smarter.

Friday's Fave Five

Here are some favorites from my week!

  1. Home meeting... We had a great home meeting Sunday evening at Pastor Brian's. My husband brought the Word and I was proud of him. I am so thankful for a man who longs for God and seeks to be conformed.
  2. Orders... I make jewelry and I have had some orders come in. I stay so busy with my 3 boys, home making, and being a wife that I really don't get much time to make it for the sake of it. I'm thankful for the skill and the joy of being of to do this.
  3. Winter weather... We continued our cold snap and it's been wonderful!! I love cold weather!
  4. Family... I took the boys for a hair cut yesterday and was able to visit with my parents. My Mom and I went out to eat some Mexican food and then grabbed some fresh coffee at a locally run shop. I love our small home town where we were raised! I miss it a lot.
  5. Surprises... I surprised my husband this morning with a new toy. He has wanted a tablet (similar to the iPad for a little bit now). Well, last night with the help of my brother, I was able to get one ordered and picked up. He was so thankful!! I love that man! He does a lot for me and the boys. Thank God for the means to do this.
Hope you all have had a great week and have a great weekend! Link up with Susanne @ Living to Tell the Story for more posts.

  2. Relaxing evening... We didn't have services Sunday evening so we enjoyed it at home. We took naps, had homemade pizza, and watched some movies with the boys.
  3. Comfort foods... I made chili for Wednesday and it was yummy. We had a cold front come through and it was just on time. My guys ate it up!
  4. Home-schooling... It can be exhausting at times, but I am so glad I am doing it. My boys are learning so much. Our curriculum is Bible base (Heart of Dakota) and I love it.
  5. Sweet treats... I caved this week and ate more than my share of Little Debbie Cakes. :-) I love the ones with cream in the middle. The Zebra Cakes. Oh boy. They are so yummy!

Friday's Fave Five

I am getting my post up a little late today. I've been up grocery shopping, doing school with my boys, and some housework. We have friends coming over tonight,so forgive me if I don't get to comment on your posts today or at all. So let me reflect on my week.

  1. Home meeting... We have home meetings every 1st and 3rd Sunday at church during the evening. It is wonderful to gather with people from the church and talk about the Word and things on our hearts.
  2. Gorgeous weather... we had at least 2 days of gorgeous weather before the storms came rolling in. It was splendid!
  3. Off time... We are on our second off day with the hubby! He has 4 days off this week. So we get to enjoy downtime, friend time, some ministry time, and church together Sunday.
  4. Family... We visited with my parents yesterday. We live about 45 minutes from them and haven't been doing as much traveling there lately. It was a fun day. My oldest got his first pellet rifle from Papa (late birthday gift). I helped my Mama figure out her tablet she got as an early birthday present from my brother and his family. The kids played outside though it was cloudy and they shot their bb and pellet guns with my husband and my Daddy.
  5. Friends... We had supper with a couple from the church last night that we have known for years. It was an encouraging time for us. We were able to minister and be ministered too. We are very blessed.
  6. A bonus... We are going on a vacation in April that is so a God thing. We have a 2 level condo all to ourselves right on the beach. It's only our second time away for an extended time. God really blessed us!!
  7. Another bonus.. Sorry guys! I turned 30 this week (Wednesday) and it was fun! I received lots of birthday wishes from family and friends. My husband got me beautiful flowers and a card, that is what I always want.
Life is hard, but let us not forget we are a blessed people. If the Lord is our God, we are blessed! Reflect back on your week and look for those glimpses of hope and share them with us today. Link up with Susanne @ Living to Tell the Story.

3. Breakfast foods... We love pancakes, so I made heart shaped pancakes this morning. We added whip cream and strawberries on top. Oh and maple syrup! Yummy!

4. Valentine Candy... I love candy, but oh Valentine candy is one of my favorites. My hubby left this with a card and roses on the table for me this morning. He's a sweetie.

5. Outside time... Playing outside with my big boys is always fun! We played football and baseball. They have so much energy and this is a good way to get rid of some of it!

I hope you all have a great weekend!!

Friday's Fave Five

I missed doing this last week. I was so busy that day with grocery shopping, then paying bills, and spend some time outside of the home with the boys. So here are my favorites from the week.

  1. Great worship time at church Sunday... I love being able to focus and just worship my Lord.
  2. Getting a hair trim... I could never find someone here in our city,so I go 40 minutes back to our hometown to an "Aunt" for my hair styling. I looooove my hair washed, cut, and fixed. It's like a spa day for me. I am trying to let it grow out,so just a trim was all I needed.
  3. Some quality time with my husband... I love being able to just sit with him or talk to him without interruption.
  4. A belated birthday gift... Daniel's bomber jacket we ordered arrived yesterday and he was in total shock! It has patches and he is adorable in it. I love seeing his face light up.
  5. Making love cards... The boys and I have been making valentine cards for the Grandparents and for my husband. It's been fun! I even made my husband a pop up card. I love doing homemade stuff!

Friday's Fave Five

I am getting my post up late, but I wanted to do one. It's been a tiring week here. We have been battling fevers and sickness. Thank God that is wasn't that bad. It was the flu, but no vomiting  only fever and lots of sleeping. It was only my oldest who was sick. My toddler started running a fever yesterday, so we took him to get him checked out. He tested positive for the flu. He's been fine, just a fever off and on. We tried to do a lot of our medicine naturally, so we have just been doing ibuprofen as advised. Okay, on to the favorites of the week.

1. Spending some time outside with my family... It's not been so cold and no rain, so we took advantage of it.

2. Blueberry muffins with cream cheese icing and sprinkles.... we had these one evening and loved them!

3. Having fun with my boys... I built a fort today for the boys. I'm not that good at it yet, but they loved it. We even did our school in it.

4. Frozen yogurt.... I had my first trip to Chill. It's a yogurt place with lots of different flavors and many different toppings. I got some strawberry yogurt topped with waffle cone, granola, yogurt chips, and sprinkles. Yuuum

5. Doing crafts... I love crafts and to do them with my boys. We did some snowmen crafts this week and they loved it.

I had to add pictures. I love pictures! Join Susanne @ Living to Tell the Story and share your fave 5 of the week!
